RO's system? You mean the class selection?

Good idea btw Haro ;) Sounds pretty good to me.
Yes. Americas Armys system would be good if people wanted to work together.

So, I assume that we'll be working with other AI players in the campaign or possibly ven other people. Gee, wouldn't it be cool if you could play the campiagn with someone online. But then again, sucess in SP depends on immaculate exocution of plans and highly cooperative team tactics so lag might ruin your day.

Anyhow, I want to talk about multiplayer. In BF 2142, you gain medals and awards for many types of actions. It really works well. Itreally motivates you. So, I think in Alliance, you shoukld get medals or something. These would be displayed on your prodfile as well as other stats like best weapon, total # of kils, accuracy, etc. Maybe there should even be graphical representations of your performance in terms of things like kills vs. deaths or shots fired vs. shots hit.

I'm also a strong supported of squds. Frankly, I've had enough of other so-called so-called team based shooters where peopel just go off and do their own thing. I believe that the reason why they do this is that there is no system to effectively coordinate your eforts as a team. In Alliance, you shouldn't have to join a squad but it should be encouraged somehow. There will preset squads : alpha, bravo, delta, charlie, and the elite squad called "Angelina Jolie is really hot." I'm kidding about the last part. Haha, I made a funny. Anyhow, the squad elects a leader, who has the capability to send other members orders like "go here", "suprss that person", or "take a dump.". Hey look, I made another funny . The squads accomplishments also contribute towards the total team points, and both are displayed on the post game score board. Now, in additon to being able to communicate with your other team mebers via VOIP and text messages, you should also be able to send text and VOIp messages exclusively to your squad mates.

Going out on a limb, maybe the squad leader should be able to devise a multi stage plan in game? Ex : go here then go here then shoot this person who is camping?

Anyhow, orders should be indicated clearly and distinctly. Red lines or something.

Now move out.

I was thinking about a serveroption wich would alow for briefings between rounds. When one round ends you would have lets say two minutes to select weapons and make plans for the next round. squadleaders could draw on the map as was already suggested, make teams and give teams speciffic tasks. This might hinder the game a little bit for the conventional player, but it would allow for a little more planning and will increase the fun for people who enjoy working together instead of just logging in to kill something.

Or, weapon selection could be handled like the Firearms mod for Half Life 1 did.

Bascially, you could select a pre-set class, or, mix and match to make your own through a couple of menus.

With Alliance, perhaps this could be included with standard, preset loadouts, and any server made custom loadouts available for selection. This would cut down on the time it may take to sort through all of the guns and make it easier to allow only a certain type, catagory, etc of gun to be used.

well lets put it this way:

theres A BIG difference between these next two statments

a game that supports teamwork with a good squad system

a game that encourages teamwork with a good game design that makes it easier for a team to win with teamwork, and nearly impossible without teamwork.

the first of those two lines is bf2, squad system, but you were better off going by yourself, the latter of those two lines is abit like what RO is like, it encourages teamplay by giving you the ability to resupply machinegunners and making it hard to make a dent in good enemy defences by yourself. however a game that makes it even harder then that to lone wolf has yet to be made, so im hoping theres some real goodies for facilitating teamwork.

one thing i hope to see is 3d voip so if your teamin up with other people and you say something over voip (hopefully game will have built in voip) they will have a way of knowing its coming from you and your 10 feet behind them, instead ofyourentire team hearing it and not knowin who's warning who about that grenade.

Squad biefings would be really nice.

The orders that the squad leader can issue each team member should depend on the weapon that they are using.

or examnple, if they have a MG, then the squad leader can tag a target for supression.

Should definetly be integrated into all team dm matches.

You know, I like 50ca's idea about getting points to use in the war studio. Then we could do like in Counter-Strike and buy weapons on the fly in the game and stalk up.

Yeah. And seeing as how were kinda like mercenaries, it makes sense to buy our own guns, not like in CSS where you are a member of an elite counter terrorist team and yet you have to buy weapons out of your own pocket

A menu similar to the one in the Firearms mod would work very well. Or just have a mini version of the War Studio pop up if you want new guns :D

I liked the menu I saw in the video. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (PC Version)s way to select your weapons was pretty good too.
