Hi there, I have just created a new forum account (I though I had one from 2008, but it seems that I didn't registered at that time, too bad xD) and I want to finally fulfill something I had on my mind for a long time (Since the forums were reopened).

I have heard about the infamous mod for UT 99 here, and I really liked it, so I though someone should make a place where he could find all the info that he needs to play the mod, and what he will encounter in it. And since nobody did it already, why I shouldn't do it myself? xD.

Also I thought that better than just dedicate an entire topic to just a single mod, it would be more viable and useful to create a Topic where to put all the Mods/Games that may have some interesting features for the users of this forum, call it realistic weapon behavior and ballistics, or something else related.

So, here is my "experiment", I hope it is useful to dust-out good joys that may have been forgotten/unseen due to not being too know. And, of course, feel free to add your own knowledge of these joys, I will try to keep this topic updated:

Infiltration: As real as it gets

Main Webpage: Infiltration: This is as real as it gets
ModDB Profile: Infiltration ModDB profile
Some Video shotage: SCAR-L in Infiltration 2.9 CE + ENBSeries
A (bit boring) Video about the features that Infiltration has to offer: Infiltration mod (Unreal Tournament 1999) features
A good review of the mod (which link is also in the description of the first video): Infiltration Review

Description and tips: Well, I think almost everyone here knows this great mod, who doesn't can just check the review and the videos and will have a great idea of what this mod has to offer, which isn't little to be honest.

I have been searching again for a couple of hours about how to install the mod and what was the easier way to do so, and I think I reached the conclusion that having UT 99 installed and then downloading this version of the mod and installing it should do the trick, since I think this is the installer that someone created unifying everything in just one installer, making the installation of the mod as simple as it can be. I can't find the file I used myself when I tried to mod, but I think this one is the same, can't check it myself since I don't have much space left in the harddisk.

Well here I post the guides about installing the mod, I suppose that with the file I put earlier you can skip the skin pack and user content install things, since they should be inside the installer: Mod Install Guide (Tripwire forums) -> Post quoted in the first post, but that has been updated after being quoted

And that's all, I think if I forgot something it will be in any of the link I posted, so it wouldn't be any problem, anyway I think I didn't forgot anything critical, so that all for now about this awesome mod.

Main Website: None at the moment
ModDB Profile: OccupationCS:Source
Some random Footage (Outdated, I think the best one can do to know what this mod has to offer, is to see the videos section in the ModDB profile): OccupationCS - TDM on Central

Description and Tips: And here it is, to be honest, it's menus, at least in the last version (Last got released today and I have to see if it has improved in these aspect) were a bit junky and not very intuitive, but give it time, and it will show you their good points too, as it has one of the best weapon ballistic physics I have ever seen (not that I have seen much more mods/games that have proper ballistic physics, to be honest xD). Nice amount of weapons, and well, I think if you like INF you may like this one too.

As the name's imply it required Counter-Strike: Source files for some textures on maps and stuff, but I think they fixed it in this last version. Anyway, testing it it's free, since Team-Fortress 2 went F2P so did the Source SDK base package, which is the only requirement to play any Total Conversion based on the source engine(Like Firearms: Source, Age of Chivalry and so on).

To install the mod, just download the last version from the ModDB profile and then install/Extract it at "Steamfolder"\SteamApps\SourceMods\ being "Steamfolder the steam folder without quotes, for example: C:\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\ ; The mod should be displayed on the game's list after restarting steam, and remember that you need source SDK base 2006 and 2007 installed in order to be able to play the mod (I think steam start downloading it if you don't have them installed already, so there should not be any problem).

Well nothing more for now, I would also recommend to check two more source mods that may interest you all Firearms: Source and Insurgency, the first can be downloaded from their own webpage, and the second can be obtained directly from steam, just search for it's name on the shop and it should do the trick.

Have fun, I hope this helps in any way possible  .

To be honest, I though this topic was destinated to be forgotten since it wasn't on any Alliance official sub forums, yet I thought this was the only place where I should put it, so it's really nice that it got noticed after all :) .

Now that I think about it, maybe I should have reserved some post after the first one so I could add more detailed info about each game/mod (Mods only right now xD) without worrying about the characters limit (60K as far as I know, or at least that's what this windows says xD), because even if it is a lot, when you update and put your posts pretty (size and color changes, some images posted, urls with shorter names so you can actually know what the link directs to, etc) you end using a lot of characters that will not be displayed, but counted alike.

So, maybe after I recompile more mods/games, I could turn this topic as a list or "database" of sub-topics, focused each one in a single Mod/Game, giving more space to put info about it (Screen-shots, tutorials and stuff) and also would make opinions and suggestions about each one much more organized than if they are concentrated in just one topic, and this would also make this topic able to list easier the suggestion of other users about more Mods/Games that they think that should be added in the list.

Well, that's all, I think I will post some images and screenshots of the two principal mods mentioned upside to add more immersion to the topic.

Again thanks for your time, and sorry for my long post and probably poor orthographic quality of them ^^u
