Hello everyone,

After just recently checking out this game a few days ago, I became really excited about where this game is going. I have been waiting a very long time for a shooter like this to come into existence. Kudos to all the guys behind this great game!

Just had the quick question of whether or not firing modes will be included in the game (I'm assuming yes). If so, will they be unique/accurate to each gun (as in having more than just semi/full-auto options on the more modern weapons which really have burst modes too...)?

I apologize if this is seen in the gamplay trailer, as I haven't seen it yet (the cons of dial up...)

Thanks again for all your hard work!

I believe one will have the options of fire modes.

However, I think we should wait for an official word by Sox (probably won't be 'till Monday).

Alliance has everything I could ever want in a contemporary FPS game. :D

I've never seen anything like it.

Glad to hear that you like what you see. The link Fear posted is exactly what our stance is on the issue.

Assuming the Styer Aug will be included, how do you plan on simulating it's rather unique select fire option?

Perhaps make it so that if you just click the fire button, it shoots a single shot, and if it is held down for a certain amount of time longer than it takes to merely click the mouse, it shoots on full auto.

The P90's already been confirmed, so your question still applies, though I'll go ahead and confirm the AUG as being in the WarStudio while I'm at it. The P90 and the AUG function the same way. Pulling back on the trigger half way fires the weapon in semi-auto fashion, with each half trigger pull resulting in one round being fired. Pulling back on the trigger completely results in the gun firing fully automatic.

You'll either be able to use the "fire mode" button to change what will happen when you click the left mouse button (ie either interpret the click to mean a half press of the trigger or a full press), or you'll be able to map a separate button to signify pressing the trigger all the way.

for the double action trigger, i think i have an idea. may or may not work, but i favor it because its what i do with cs:s
basically, have a slight delay with full auto (may have been already mentioned, kinda in hurry) so clicking is single shot and holding is full auto. we pretty much do this already in cs:s to get bursts, so just a suggestion

what about the an-94, if that is in game (which it should seeing its used a lot by the russian army)

The reason being is that gun has oddest firing modes I have ever seen.

It has single, 2 round burst, and auto.

But heres the intresting thing.

when firing full auto, the first 2 rounds fire at 1800 rounds per minute (which is the fastest I have ever seen on an assault rifle) after that it fires at 600 rounds per minute, this combination is very usefull agaist body armor.

At about 100 meters, a trained shooter can make a single hole in the target using this feature.

The G11 would have had the AN-94 beat by 200 RPM, if it hadn't been cancelled. It would still have been a highly complicated brick too. But damn would it have been neato.

probably cause of cost, the an-94 cost 6 times the amount an ak74 would.
So Russia only ended up giving it to elite squads on some police units, the rest of their military upgraded to ak-74m

The G11 project cost a bundle and it still hadn't met the original specs. When Germany reunified they had enough financial and social issues to deal with. If the AN-94 makes it in the game, I hope the devs don't wimp out and attempt to "balance" the obvious advantage of putting two rounds in almost the same spot.

well yeah, if it makes it into the game, it will most likely be balanced, since at less then 100 meters one burst is instant death.

The 2 round burst is so fast, it sounds like a single shot.
