Yes, though you might not be able to adjust the zoom level in an analog fashion.

So, when you get a grenade launcher, you only can choose one type of grenade to go with it? Do they fire in an arc?

How about ammo types.. Can you carry multiple ammo types and distribute them among several weapons. I assume that each ammo type is compatible with several weapons.

You can have multiple types of grenades. All our projectiles (grenades included) fire in an arc.

Ammo types are compatible between weapons, mags and clips however might not be.

What about the ability to merge magazines? Firearms had this feature, and it came in handy at times.


By merge I mean take 2 mags, each 1/4 full and take the bullets and put them in another mag, thus making it 1/2 full.


I know that in real life its quite hard to take ammo out of a mag, then put it into another mag, and impossible while in combat. But still, I think it would be a neat feature to have in the lesser realism settings.

The lowest realism level will actually have no concept of distinct mags.

Also the fact that in real life this is something you would really never do in combat and that we'll be letting you carry a realistic number of magazines makes it unlikely that we'll take the time to implement it.

1) So, when you mentioned different ammo types, we can only carry one per gun and they are not interchangeable (meaning, one ammo type/calibre cannot be used on multiple guns.)?

2) How many attachments can each gun be equipped with?

3) Different ammo types will only be available on the highest realism setting? How about on medium?

4) If you can carry, say a total of 4 magazines, doesn't it makes sense that you can either carry 4 "normal" magazines or 1 standard mag and 3 specialty ones, like incendary, explosive, etc.

Not quite. It means that you can for example carry an MP5 with hollow-points and ball rounds, and you can also carry an M9 with ball rounds and tracers, but you can't in the middle of the round use the tracers that you have in a mag for the M9 with your MP5. You could however have originally equiped your MP5 with tracers as well, you just can't interchange their use in the middle of a round.

You misunderstood my post, different ammo types are available on all realism settings. Distinct mags (for the purpose of reloading) are only available from normal realism up, as in the lowest realism level, your ammo of the same type auto-distributes into full magazines.

Yup, it doesn't make sense to not let you do that. That's why you can do just that. ;)

If we are carrying multiple kinds of ammo for a gun (say the MP5) can we switch ammo types for that gun? I mean, if you are carrying ball rounds and tracers, there might come a point where you want to switch tracers, so you'de need a robust system for changing ammo types..


So, you have a set number of magazines that you can carry?

Yeah, you can switch between ammo types on a certain gun, but not from your MP5 to your Beretta.

Yes, magazines are grouped by the type of rounds they contain. At any point in the round you can switch current magazine type for your active weapon.

There will be a max number of magazines that you can carry, but it will be rather large.

I really hope, that there will not be any weight-limits of how much you can carry with you. You should really load on, if you want to. But if you load over some limits, you will get a backpacker on you back. Then really being slow in your movement. That should really feeling likeyou really are the dude in game. No, recommended limits. Ofcurse there should be a limit of the maximum limit, but still you should be able to over load. With over load i mean that you character really are slow and a easy target.

What kinds of optics are you guys planning on incorperating? Night vision? Telescopic?

How about under-barrel shotguns?


Will each weapon be able to carry the same amount of add-ons or will thins vary among them...?

Not all attachments will cost money. The level of customization will not be that in-depth, we have way too many more weapons to have the same amount of flexibility.

Lol, looks like they duct taped a shotgun and a machinegun to that M4. I hope Alliance doenst have any tacky, "futuristic" attachments like that..
