Doubtful it will happen and rarely does it really do any good. Most people look at it as a demo and not a beta. Being a beta tester requires alot of boring and repetitive tasks which most people don't have the attention span for it when it comes to a video game. Beta testing isn't about "playing the game", it's about stressing the game to find weaknesses and bugs.

ya he is right i have beta tested a few games its one of the things i do is give feedback and things that i find wrong. i found one big bug in auto assult in the beta that they laughed about i did end up exploiting the bug because it was funny but heck it was nice. i dont normally do that thou

well, if we were to do a demo, we'd probably leave feedback anyway, so its more like an informal beta

If we do one it would be after a closed beta and before release. We'd announce it ahead of time and would give preference to people in the community if we do so though.

Yeah I've beta tested for a few games so I'm not new to the concept. I really don't mind doing repetitive tasks, I code a little and thats as repetitive as anything gets. heh

You know, people always say that beta testing is no fun and it's all repetative tasks, but I've beta tested a number of FPSs in recent years and I always had a good time. :?

Most recently was the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. beta, and although that was an "open" closed beta, it still required some work. I've since stopped due to the fact that my PC can't run it, but it was fun while it lasted.

I'd love to help beta test.

I am pretty fanatical about my realism shooters and I am fascinated to see how you've approached various design issues.

ive beta'd CS:S, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and COH

there are a few other titles but nothing worthy of note,

it is fun though, and its very amusing to see some of the bugs in game and to think, how the HELL did they miss that one!

annother thing is i have quite a varied amount of systems, some with xp some with vista come with nvidia cards some with ati, quite a mix so that helps matters
