I realy wonder how big these maps will be... I want size on the maps at least (more then 6 football fields)...

Hate when maps are big like in CoD or CS, it realy blowing... You getting from action to inferno and no tactics at all in game (spray and prey)...

Those games even don't have cover fire to advance team forward. No fire gate tactics, no flanking and so on... So i really want big maps to keep game intresting and snipers there chance to hold tactical places on maps easier... And shooting range of 2000m for 50,cal sniperrifles...

The maps will vary in size considerably, and we're definitely including larger ones in the mix. They will be nowhere near the size of those in Joint Ops though.

Cus it's have to take time before you get to that spot u got killed, time before. Then players play more tactical in bigger maps, this keeps team together until u getting to their firepostions... Not just action, action, action, action, spray, kill, die, spray, kill, die................................ and so on... Big maps even = MORE REALITY

i dont think anyone even people that like realism want to play a multiplayer game where some guy is camping on the other side of the map waiting to see someone and it takes 30 minutes for one round to be over.

When it comes to size, the environment the map occurs in should also be taken into account. In CoD, it was mostly mutliplayer versions of SP levels, meaning that what works in SP will likley work in the multiplayer map. Plus, since everybody does what they want in multiplayer matches, and the fact that real life tactics in an environment where no one has any inclination to play as a team will likey earn you a bullet in your ass would detract from realism or (in your case) fun, shrinking down the size of the map into a more claustrophobic environment would make people more inclined to work as a team.

Also, a big map plus a small amount of people equals a LONG time before you can find anyone to do such manuevers and tactics.

As long as you have obvious objectives, everyone will find eachother regardless of map size.

If you are camping on the other side of the map when you should have been defending your base you will lose without seeing any action.

I would definitely like to see a game with a variety of maps of all sizes so that each server can instantly cater for the number of players currently connected to it.

And this is objective based MP like AA where camping will get you nothing unless your defenders, and defenders camp it's what they do in real life it's what they do in game.

Can't say what the maximum map size that we'll release for multiplayer will be yet.

I really want huge open areas, randomly placed in this close quarters. But laying this huge open spaces, there it goes faster to come over to enemy side of map or TKOTH hot-zone... So there can be a risk, that there maybe are snipers on overwatch over that open areas...

Cus i don't want to have camping CS snipers that shot on one street corner and pick hundreds of kills, for camping on that corner. That's just to boring gaming... Make machinegunner to choose the close quarters, while riflemen and snipers having their fun on this huge open areas... Maybe even inplant flamethrowers to game... So, machinegunners in close quarters having their own great risk factors...

Wow, where did that come from...

I've deleted all the flaming from this thread (and responses to it).

Keep things on topic.

Well I would like some maps to be around the size of Battlefield 2's maps. But when I was playing the beta for the newest patch, the infantry only option it took along time to find some action. I would like to see some maps with reasonable size and not just kill boxes. You know maps with wide open spaces.

Why have big areas when you dont get to use vehicles? It would be boring just running around everywhere. The only way I wouldn't mind big areas is if there are objectives that go with it. Like, Attach this point, then go blow this object up, etc. It would just be boring if it was a deathmatch.

True, but more organic maps would be nice. Like take this crude map for instance.

http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/3659/openmappx3.jpg

The gray shapes are buildings, the darker green dots are trees, the blue is a river, and the gray blobs are rocks, the brown line in the south base is four foot high wall, the brown shapes on the river are bridges. The map feels open and could offer a wide range of weapon use.

Where as a map like this would just offer spray and pray.
http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/2765/closedhj3.jpg

True skill using the weapon would be lost as people would flock to SMG's or semi/full auto rifles. Although we dont know what the maps will be like or what can be done, so this is sort of null. But I would like to see some open ended maps where aim matters and not rate of fire.
