Hello Everyone!

This is my first post and just wanted to state right off the bat this game looks awesome. It is along the lines of what I wanted to play while in High school.

Now, my question is about load outs. I haven't had a big chance to look around yet (7 Am, 28 hours with no sleep D: ) Is it going to be similar to the modern fps load out styles?

Another Question: For ammunition clips in game, will reloading expend the bullets left in that clip, or will it pull from a pool of bullets while the reloading ammunition fills the gun?

Thirdly, will environmental conditions affect weapons? Such as jamming and the likes.

Thank you for taking the time if anyone actually reads this. I hope the games comes out soonish really looking forward to it and would be glad to help in anyway I can. Unfortunately I can't donate, on disability :( . If I find the money to will be glad to.

Hey man, welcome to the community!

Here goes:

1. Load outs will be very similar, yes. However, to wit, there won't be the traditional tradeoffs you see in most games (bolt gun firing a 308 is somehow magically more deadly than a semi auto firing the same 308). Balancing happens on the server level (search for all my posts - "AllianceAsi" - for more data about this and other details).

2. Depends on the realism setting of the server.

3. Jamming is a big toss up, as it skirts the line between fun and downright annoying ;). That said, we'll be experimenting with it as part of our variable realism system.

No worries on donation. You can actually help more by just spreading the word (FB, etc.) and making sure all your gamer friends know!

Thanks for the enthusiasm,
AA

Oh, also, care to tell us where you heard of it? It helps us track traffic sources.

Thanks!

Hello,

I actually heard about the game through Reddit on the gaming subreddit. I'll definitely get as many people as I can to help support :)

Was going through old account info/bookmarks and saw this was back up. :?:

I sure hope people here don't get duped, all hyped up excited, making donations this time for the cause, only to have the rug pulled out from under them and shades drawn down on them and the project side lined again. Begging for donations seems a bit desperate to me. Successful scam is successful.

This site won't even keep me logged in. Perfect for future lDRM scheme huh?
Speaking of that, what kind of intrusive account driven , 3 time activation limit, DRM are you planing to use with your game?
DRM is all the rage these days?

How long are we looking at, another 1-3 years of production here, and/or the typical its done when its done or we get enough donations rhetoric? Or is a timeline in place and a date set? What's the projected sale price of the game once it releases? Pay to Play, subscription?

How much of the game will you leave out, only to make people pay for as DLC? Its all the rage now too.

Yeah lets ask the hard questions up front.

Anyway good luck, I guess, I'm not really to enthusiastic about this as I was the first time.

Hi slEAsyEA, to answer your questions:

It's true, we can't unfortunately guarantee anything. The donation system was set up because many people had originally asked if there was a way for them to contribute financially to the cause, so we figured we'd give a way this time. Virtually all of our donations have been token amounts (under $10) and, I have no problem disclosing this, I don't think we've broken $200 yet. This is by no means the main way we're funding our game, as much as it is a way for us to get some small momentum going. Every little bit helps!

I'm sorry if it does seem desperate to you. I can see that.

Please PM me and we'll do what we can to get your logins sorted out. It's not the most bleeding edge version of phpBB, so that might have something to do with it. We should be able to get it squared away.

Re: DRM, there will be none. We're going multiplayer only at first, so that should give you some indication for our bigger plans with all of this :)

We hope within 1 year for the first playable "thing". Actual business model hasn't been disclosed yet, but it will certainly leverage newer models. We experimented with the old way and didn't like it one bit.

It's not really going to be structured that way. What I can say is that the method we will *not* use is "here's a $60 game that's only 70% complete. Enjoy the $10 patches!" That's not going to fly.

Yeah lets ask the hard questions up front.

We'll welcome your interest and inquiries on the game, but I would ask you tone down the sarcasm just a bit. It doesn't help us, especially as we're Davids right now against an industry known for its Goliaths. Support in any form is what we can really use as we build something beautiful out of the mud that you have come to hate in this genre.

Hopefully we can change your mind by code and by pixel. Thanks for checking in on us!
