If some of these weapons have already been posted, sorry about that. I was just making sure.

Did I go over the 200+ limit?

I guess...

One more question:

Is there going to be any tanks/vehicles/helicopters/planes/aircraft/ships/boats etc. that can be used/manned in the game or is the primary aspect of the game going to be around infantry fighting like we saw in the gameplay video?

I think that having a large arsenal of weapons(possibly the largest ever in a video game), huge and extremely detailed enviroments, an awsome graphics engine, and a great timeline of battles and warfare could use the addition of vehicles and such that can be manned throughout the game, scripted or not, I just like having the best game so far I've seen be better by having the Battlefield 2 style within it, and that's 'enter any vehicle and use it if you can find it around you'...

Although if not, then please release it on the Xbox 360 because my PC won't be able to play this game and I doubt that I will get a good gaming PC anytime soon...

Good job with everything so far and keep up the good work! :D

Actually I thought BF 2 sucked for this reason. Which Infantry soldiers do you know who can pilot a helicopter, jet and drive a tank? If you are going to have vehicles I'd make it that you have to choose some sort of Pilot or Armoured division class to be able to use vehicles and in turn they don't get access to as good weapons as a regular Infantry soldeir. Obviously any soldier is going to be able to drive a Humvee or jeep.

makedonija77 calm down i'm not saying BF2 is crap I thought the tanks and heli's were cool but the implementation of them was totally unrealistic and that was what sucked. As I mentioned before the average infantry soldier does not know how to pilot a heli/ jet or drive a tank, so if classes were implemented that only could do this it'd stop the countinous camping that happens around vehicles. This would happen by only allowing a set number of pilots or tank drivers and they in turn have access to not as powerful weapons. So people would really consider whether they want to be these classes or a standard infantry soldier, who has the assault rifles and bigger guns.

The pictures arn't showing up because you can't link to pictures at world.guns.ru

CS just sucks -

and that is my Opinion... why even play one of thee most "Immature" communities around which were also thee 1st for Hackers to roam free in servers on a consistant basis. Yes, many do still play it but I personally can NOT find myself apart of that Community. I guess I am too bias from having played Novalogic's Delta Force Series and other Great Titles from other FPS Companies to even try and add CS to my list of games.... lmfao NOT! - I have tried to do so in the early days of 1.6 version(s)... :P

Anyway,
BF2-Special Forces is a great game actually... with all the Random asthetics and the entire war elements that make up the map environments make it fun to play. again... some gamers like specific types of games/titles within the same style/genre. Just wish the Shooting ballistics were more on point if you get what I mean.

so that is just my $.02 -

I will contribute to the defilement of this thread: As Envious so blatantly put it: "CS sucks". My major gripe is the pervasive inaccuracies such as pulling the forward assist instead of the charging handle and the incorrect placement of the ejection ports. On BF2: I enjoy this as a moderatly realistic game. The conventions here are not strong, but the squad level play is a vast improvement over its predecessors and one I find enjoyable. However this is all aside from this thread's pupose. I will stop here in hopes of not derailing this into an off topic or 'hijacking'.

Edit: glad the mod felt so inclined to allocate this away from its progenitor. I would hate to transgress.

I want to play BF2. But unfortunetly, I can't because my pc sucks.

I can't get a new one anytime soon because I'm in a financial crisis, which is usually a daily part of my life...

Lucky enough to have a crappy pc, I can still play the games I have but unfortunetly, I can't buy new ones because my pc can't handle them.

Plus I have every FPS there is to have that's good, except BF2 or BF Viet and so on --- I have CoD, CoD:UO, MoH:AA, BF1942, GR, the two GR expansions, Half Life, DoD, HL:OF, HL:BS, CS, CS:S, DoD:S, SC, SCPT, DF1, DF2, DFLW, RS, RSRS, RSRSBT, RS3:RS, Max Payne, Commanche 4, SWKOTOR, SoF2DHG, SSTNE, RTCW, ET, ETF, TFC, TCE, Halo, UT, Doom 1, Doom 2, Ultimate Doom, Final Doom, GTA3, GTA:VC, and GunZ are just to name a few of my games, either downloaded or bought, I have 'em.

Don't be suprised because some of these games aren't installed and some are.

And some of those games either lag too much or are unable to work on my computer even though it's newer, such as BF1942, which works fine and plays fine when you have like 4 bots including myself in a skirmish, and lags so much it when you have like 20 bots seems that you're playing on images, not a fast frame rate and like Max Payne, which worked on my previous PC's, such as my Compaq, where it still sits in a box somewhere in my house, and on my IBM, which doesn't look like a game but more of an enigma, where it has the ironic views of the textures being broken where I'm playing with 3D shadows, not charachters, and this computer where I'm writing this message from, which is a Dell, but that doesn't matter because Max Payne won't start because this computer doesn't support the 3D accelerator needed to play Max Payne...

So I'm asking you, actually begging you, not for the sake of only myself, but for the sake of many other lucky to have crap and very unlucky to live type of people like me out there, PLEASE MAKE THIS GAME ON THE XBOX 360!!!!

And back to the topic which I somehow happened to drift away from --- I love BF2 already, and I haven't even played it yet!

And yes, I have played the Xbox 360 version which really sucks as they said it did, and not even a single cheat except the one that didn't work and happened to be written wrong so I returned the game to blockbuster where then it was fixed.

Fuck it.

I know that infantry and vehicles are a different thing, that's why in some games, it doesn't add up to the realism.

Ok, how about this solution:

For Alliance The Secret War, you start off being a normal infantry footsoldier, where you can't drive vehicles YET, but as the game progresses, you can have this system where you unlock the ability to drive those vehicles, which later on in the game, such as the modern part, not the world war 2 part or whatever, you have teamates driving heli's and fighter jet's while other teamates drive boats and those floating thingies on water while you use your new ability to drive at tank for example.

Unlock abilities. You don't have to just include the infantry part. I love infantry based gaming, especially when in tactical situations like GRAW for the Xbox 360, where I don't get that much experiance in driving a tank in games or whatever, like in BF2 for the PC, which I can afford but can't play.

Godamn it.

Anyways, I know that from the looks of Alliance so far, that game will be based mostly around infantry, and that's because of your nicely detailed enviroments, which will prolly be huge, and more closed in, as we saw from the video on the egypt thing, where there was buildings everywhere and that told us that it's an infantry based map, besides the tank that was blown up, there are games that have open enviroments that give players choice of where to shoot next, where Alliance gives you tactical decisions of taking covert behind those vase thingies we saw in the egypt video, and especially because of the 200 weapons part, I want this game.

But from the looks of the gameplay videos and stories I've read on the game, it will be more orianted around infantry based fighting in closed and detailed large enviroments, with an ongoing storyline, besides the usual fight here and kill a few hundred enemies, get sent there for no reason and fight to kill another few hundred enemies. Usually.

I know, I won't care for the vehicles if they don't come up in the game. I just want the game to have those 200 guarenteed weapons and some enchaments to be made on them as the game progresses later on in the 20th century...

200 weapons, nice graphics, a good storyline, intense fighting, an Xbox 360 version and a good score is all I care for...

Still, keep up the good work!

My opinion to counterract this: Immature communities cannot be helped. No matter what you do, you cannot prevent it. It's quite possible it's like that because it's one of the largest FPS' on earth. If you get into good servers, it's seriously endless fun for me. When you join a clan ({LLAMA} clan for example), everyone has to be mature and strong. If they aren't strong or mature, then the clan will fail. trust me.

The thing about CS's weapons is... they aren't supposed to be real. They are supposed to look flashy and cool, not real. They aren't supposed to have real animations is because some people don't want their little kiddies to find out how to use a firearm. If you want a realistic set of animations, go to a modification site for each weapon (www.fpsbanana.com, csnation, etc). I couldn't take BF2 on the weapon damage and what I felt was a bad set of code. Bad modding community (not much of one either), spammed releases, bad bugs are just a few of the things i can't stand.

srry for goin against you guys, just thought i'd speak out for cs.

I understand your views and agree with you to a point. I understand that CS has evolved into a platform of dimished relation to the tangible world it simulates. Even so has its rampant non-conventionalism and realistic transgressions become more of tradition than folly. However, I don't believe this was in the origional design docuements, assuming that the origional team had any inclination for organization, or mind set. A contrary position for the most heralded 'realistic' tactical shooter. Furthermore, I doubt that the animators had any bearing on child safety or anti-intelligence propaganda. Yet, my arguements are not inclined to diminish the prospective enjoyement that any of CS's proponents may have while exercising their freetime. Nor do I hold myself having the perogative to do so.

Personally i cant stand CS and CS: S is even worse. The lack of iron sights is one of major factors in that. It has the desert eagle when no military, police or terrorist uses it. The Models are the wrong way round, you get a hot peice of brass in your eye everytime you fire one of the bullpops left handed. Terrorists with Flash Bangs (a hollywood fantasy). Special forces without the anti Flash Filtters which are standard issue on all CT gasmasks. Maps the size of a match box.

BF2 is ok but needs alot of work to make right as some of its already been said i wont repeat it but add to it. SAS in building assault gear in a desert with badge (the last time the SAS went into combat badged was WW2), the wrong sniper rifle and side arms for them (AWM or AW50 as the sniper rifles, Sig P226, MP5 MD or FN Browning 9mm as side arms). The Fighter bombers dont fit in the maps. Where the hell is the defender 110. Giving an AT soldier an SMG when they should have a rifle. The whole everyone has a side arm. No bayonets :(.

Red Orchestra wipes the floor with them.

BF and CS are basically kiddie FPS shooters. I much prefer realistic combat FPS like you.

I think it is all the way incorrect to judge both CS and BF from the point of realism. They are not about it. They were intended and created as fast multiplayer games and the only guidestone the devs taken in consideration was THE FUN. Same about the maps - if you are killed you would be bored running to the action from respawn or waiting for next round. Thats why thy maps are tiny - but they are very tuned for balance and both sides can find good position and engage an INTERESTING FOR EVERYBODY fight in any part of it.

Anyway, in my office people play R6 and GRAW.

... if you have hl2 and want a realistic shooter, wait around for Hostile Intent: Phoenix Rising. The one for hl1 is already out and depicts realistic gameplay. It's what some of you are dreaming for. It's not always what you'd expect though. Some of you will think that you would never die in these games. The blunt truth is, you will. You will get incinerated by a wee one and probably take out someone who was an ex-special forces member. Trust me, I've died to little kids and annihilated an ex-ranger myself.

I have Battlefield 1942 for PC, but unfortunetly, I can't play in a way that I will enjoy myself, such as tons of bots or whatever, but instead a few plus me, because you know why...

Now I feel even more grief when I found out about Forgotten Hope, and saw this:

Over 200 vehicles including tanks, halftracks, jeeps, aircraft, boats, stationary weapons like artillery, anti tank guns, anti aircraft guns and what not.

Also well over or around 100 weapons, including rifles, submachine guns, pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenades, machine guns, satchel charges, shotguns, rocket launchers and even bangalores.

Tons of World War 2 maps from Western to Eastern Europe, from Africa to the Pacific.

And a few countries to represent them.

I have never felt so pissed off, excited, nervous and sad about a friggin mod that had me wanting more. By the time I get a decent computer, the mod will prolly be over and from hard to next to impossible to find, and they'll prolly be making Windows Vista based PC's, which will prolly be mind, too, where every game I have is either for Windows 95 or 98 to Windows XP, plus all the games will prolly be hard to find on the market also, such as SWAT 3, which I bought from either Best Buy or Futureshop and lost it, and now I can't even find it on both of those store's sites!!!!!

This game is going to be infantry combat, isn't it?

Well, from the looks of the videos, trailers, storyline and so on, it's pretty obvious...

If you can model 200 weapons, then you can model 200 vehicles. For twice the time, you'll recive twice the price.

So why not take a shot at it?

I know that not every person can drive a vehicle like most general shooters/military/war games give you, but the award system that unlocks the abilities to do so gives you that power.

From what I've read, I hear the game is going to be spanning different conflicts/wars during the 20th century, which had a few, from WW1 to WW2, from the Korean War to the Vietnamese War, down to the Iran-Iraq War and the Afganistan-Russian conflicts, plus the Gulf Wars and the Balkan Wars...

But not every war or conflict is going to be featured in the game, I can understand that.

The game will be from WW1 to some other conflict later on, which of course, main characters change.

The player plays some of the ones who change, which means that you'll be playing different people, and those different people won't have the same abilties, where as the family goes, the technology changes, too.

Let's say in WW1 you'll be a footsoldier in the trenches, in WW2 you'll be a tank driver or a naval boat fighter, in the Vietnamese War, you're a sniper, and in the Gulf War, you can be a helicopter driver or something...

Instead of making the player do the same thing while over time he's a different person, as time flies, players can have different abilities, including the abilities to drive different vehicles...

If not a reward system, which EVERY game has, not just buying new stuff in CS or getting rewarded with a new rank and weapon in ET, or new weapons in BF2, getting a weapon off the ground and killing someone you are against is a reward, but back to the topic, not just a reward system, but as time changes, so does technology and society, meaning everyone is part of society and everyone has a piece of technology, weather it's soldiers fighting with high tech weapons or a poor kid in Africa with his stuff in animal's fur stuck on a back of a stick...

It's you're choice, but it's my suggestion.

If not vehicles, but just infantry, then make it for the Xbox 360 plzz...

Back to main topic, CS is full of n00bs and hackers, which is the reason I don't play it that much, besides yes it's one of the best MMOFPS out there.

BF2, I haven't played it yet, I hope to soon, but won't happen that soon. BF2 has it's share of weapons, vehicles, maps and you name it, especially that commander mode, I love that already.

I think supply drops are limited for the commander, but when you think about it, going into that mode kinda looks like a RTS, don't you think?

Neat!

CS is best for quick squad based infantry combat on any computer but BF2 is best for general military combat, pardoning Operation Flashpoint, and Soldner Secret Wars, you have everything you need for enjoyment, weapons, squads, vehicles, maps, decent graphics but it's new and you'll need a good system to run it, which is the reason I'm pissed off when I think about that fucking game...

I'm not voting for any of these two!

It is nearly impossible to simulate 200 vehivles with the level of realism the developers want to achieve. Also not much people would like to drive a tank just as it is in real life - with transmission control, engine parameters and so on - you will need two joisticks and pedals to drive and two teammates to look around and fire. And of course surely nobody wants to turn a serious shooter into a vehicle arcade. And as a flight simmer I just cant watch at air machines in BF and similar games.

makedonija77 if you want a game like that, which reportedly will be able to run on older machines check out 'Armed Assault'.

I didn't say I wanted 200 vehicles. You know what, never mind...

I know every developer wants to achive a certain level of realism. I know that putting vehicles into a major project based on infantry combat and the main prospect of 200 guns...

It's a game. The only realism is going to be in the player's imagination while playing the game. Plus it's supposed to be only for PC, and I know that now it's useless to point out how much better it would be on consoles, but having an 8 person team to do this big of a game is too much of a job to put it out on consoles. Whether you take that as a bad or good compliment, it's all based on your opinion, not fact, just like it's on what you'd think would make the game more realistic...

Let me point out when I play games on my computer every time, I feel like the game's not gonna start and it's not gonna run and I'm not gonna see what it feels like to play it. When I do play a game, I feel like I'm in a another world, and like it's real life.

The differance between a computer and a console system is that the computer needs to update on the inside to it runs fine on the outside, always when something new is created and is said to be better. The console does not need to be updated on the inside, because every game coming out for it is based on it's hardware.

No console. No game...

For PC's, it constantly changes because games are made on computers and they are also released for them.

The differance between my mouse and my Xbox 360 controller is that my mouse doesn't make me feel realism because it doesn't viabrate like my Xbox 360 controller. That's not enough to make it feel realistic. In order to get total realism in a game, you need to see, hear, smell, touch and feel the game. Let's start off with hearing, seeing and feeling.

When I get shot in a game, I just feel viabration on my controller, but my character feels the pain, because you hear him grunt, scream or even twitch when he gets hit.

I don't. I just get annoyed by it...

What's so realistic about games? You are trying to give it a feel of realism as much as you can, and I'd say you're not any far or even close to being far to that realism.

Especially for computers. Sure, you can get in touch with other players from around the world, but the only thing you can see and hear is their characters, their characters' actions, the things they write on their keyboard and maybe what they sound like...

You want realism? Try selling people virtual simulation rooms where you can hold a gun, shoot it, feel it, touch it and eventually feel virtual pain as much as it would when you are shot in real life.

If it's the virtual reality googles, they might give you brain damage and make you look like a retarded nerd waving his hands around in mid air.

As far as the room goes, you might go too much with the realism and kill the player by actually giving him a heart attack or a seizure, or making him piss his pants with laughter cause every bullet he takes tickles him.

Anything that is pretend is not real. That's the reason when people's heads get blown up by a grenade which they swallowed in movies makes people don't want that to happen to them, or when they have a dream about flying or something, they get pissed off and annoyed at the fact that they can't do that shit...

Games are entertainement, but they're not that entertaining to me when I'm constantly spawnkilled, insulted, kicked, banned, crashed, hacked, team killed or even lag too much on online games, especilly computer ones, while I'm trying to be entertained and trying to look like I'm having fun, I feel the killer side of me that makes me want to throw my computer out the window and beat those n00bs and hackers to death or be entertained by the sight of my backup doing it.

Too bad society's justice system is so poor that I can't go to another country because I have no money for a ticket in order to beat the crap outta the fags who did it to me, and eventually if I do, I don't get caught because no ones cares about each other anymore.

If you'd think back to the apes and beggining of time from which we came from, we are all biologiclly connected. One race. One species. One happy fucking family...

And as far as 'Armed Assault' goes, I can't play that game on my computer. It will lag, crash and destroy my computer. If you think I have an older PC, then how old did you think I have it to play Armed Assault???

My PC was made and shipped to me in 2005. My PC's hardware specifications are from before 2001. In 2001, GTA 3 came out. I can play GTA 3, no problem. The graphics are all screwy and ghost like, where while I'm shooting at people, instead of the rapid normal shooting, I hear shot after shot, more like bang --- 1 second time gap --- bang and so on.

I can play Half Life and Counterstrike just fine because Half Life was made in 1998, and it's mods and other games that use it's graphics engine and system.

I can't play Red Orchestra. I can't even play Counterstrike Source or DoD Source without lagging so much, I get killed faster than I do in the original Counterstrike.

Besides the hackers, n00bs and fucked up community, this is my average death in --- ohh --- let's say fy_iceworld...

I meet with an enemy. I aim and shoot at him and waste an entire magazine. I give him no damage. He shoots one shot at the wall beside me, he hits me and kills me instantly. I get pissed off. I cuss at him. I acuse him of hacking. He cusses back at me. He insults me. The admin tells us to shut up. I shut up. He keeps cussing, insulting and provoking me. I cuss back at him. The rest of the server tells me to shut up and starts to cuss at me. I cuss at them. They tell him to ignore me. I stop. He continues cussing, insulting and provoking me. I tell him to shut the fuck up. I get kicked or banned for the reason of --- here is a list:

Fuck off.
For being an asshole.
For being an idiot.
Fuck you.
Kicked.
You lag.

And the list of stupid reasons goes on...

What kind of a fucking reason is 'kicked'. I just got kicked, it's a thing that happened to me but it's not a fucking reason. Also --- 'For being an idiot.' is not a reason. It's an insult.

And in forums. I make a joke. I get provoked. I defend myself. They insult me. I insult them back. The admin/moderator tells us to stop. I stop. They keep provoking, insulting and cussing at me. I defend myself again cause I'm not a dumb coward pussy like they'd be if they'd face me face to face. I cuss, I insult and I fight back. Then as usual, the nerd bunch gangs up on me and starts to spary me with mucas. I do what I do which is pull out my 9mm, and shoot blank in the air. They scatter like cockroaches, but they layed eggs and each egg contains 10 babies.

For being provoked, cussed and insulted, with my unreasonable ethics, basicly I'm reasonable if my opponent stopped, but when that opponent crosses my line, I'll put my every bullet I have left aimed for my opponents' head and try to bring him down until he's pushing daises in a cemetary...

I got banned for defending myself, so technicly speaking, I shot down my opponents and left them in blood until they rose from their ashes and stabbed me in my back...

The reason for ban? 'Fuck off.'

I got pissed, so I made an account after changing my IP, and made a long post featuring the words 'fuck' every few other words, along with referring to death in every sentance.

They prolly deleted it, but I don't give a fuck anymore...

What would have happened if they said it to my face was that it would be their last words and you may think I sound silly, but text has nothing to do with emotions.

The thing is that I never go out alone and I always strap...

Back to topic:

Counterstrike is better than Battlefield 2 in some ways, just as Battlefield 2 is better than Counterstrike in other ways...

For Counterstrike

- The Pros -

Can run on almost any machine.
Good gameplay, both fun and intense.
Very popular, more than enough full servers to go around.
Good enough graphics for a pretty old game.
Sounds are solid and weapons are a wide selection.

- The Cons -

It's full of n00bs, hackers and lowlives.
It's too easy to get killed.
It's too hard to kill someone.
The game engine makes killing even more difficult.
Even if it's very popular, it feels empty when playing on any server.

Battlefield 2:

- The Pros -

It has a great graphics and physics engine.
It has vehicles, guns and everything else.
It's also very popular.
The gameplay is too fun and intense.
It's more addictive than marijuana.

- The Cons -

It's only able to play on the best and newest computers.
It's a little hard to drive aircraft.
It has only 30 vehicles, all including aircraft, ground and sea.
It has a small selection of firearms, smaller than Counterstrike.
It's less addictive than sex.

Well, that's our results. They are both equally balanced when you think from my point of view. I've never actually played Battlefield 2 and really want to, but I can't since --- and I already have Counterstrike, so...

I have Battlefield 1942, which I'm able to play in low numbers of bots, so I can't actually play the single player campaign without having to hit my computer and yell like a dumbass at the game. I really need a new and improved computer which I don't have the time to think about right now and I also want Forgotten Hope for BF1942, but you know the reason why I can't play it now...

I'm not gonna give you the full truth in details about why I can't buy a new PC, just gonna say I can't so offering me games like Armed Assault and Red Orchestra is useless.

Plus I couldn't even play the demo of Soldner, which by the way got very poor reviews and in some ways is the better but slightly less worse version of Battlefield 2. It has lots of weapons, vehicles and gameplay options.

More than either Joint Ops Typhoon Rising and BF2. But I read what was said about Universal Combat on it's cover and bought it, and now I regret that piece of crap...

The reason why you can just hop into vehicles and start driving and shooting is because it's fun and because you don't have to go through the proccess of learning how to drive/pilot them and qualify for them like in real life. Beacause if it was like real life, it wouldn't be fun to be told by a video game that you aren't allowed to do what you want.

Plus, doing all of the crap you have to do in real life just to get 1 shot off with people who have no inclination to work as a team would totally ruin any chance of people using those vehicles and possibly even buying the game.
