I'm in the market for a scope for my Mauser, and I've a few questions about scopes.

What is the difference between different lens colors? I've seen blue, green, red, and even multi. I assume multi is the best of them all, but is there better choice for single coated lenses?

What's a good size for an exit pupil diameter?

What's a decent FOV at 100 Yards with 4 or 6 times magnification?

What's a good eye relief distance?

Is Leapers a respectable company?

This is feeling pretty weird, seeing as I'm usually the one answering questions 0_o

Any help is appreciated.

The Leapers died on one of my FALs, the recoil was too much for it. It couldn't hold a zero after 40 rounds. I switched to the L1A1 scope for the FAL, a Trilux Suit. What type of Mauser? Bubba'd or what type of Military config?

I'd preferably like to spend less than $100.

It's Vz.24, nothing too special I'm going to get the ATI scope mount to go along with the scope.

Counts on personal preference. I think 3-4 inches is nice.

FUCK NO! At least not in optics. With scopes, you get what you pay for.

Stay the hell away from Ncstar, Tasco, and even BSA too IMO.

What's a decent scope less than $100. I'm not looking to get an "OMFG I KAN SEA 4EVAH" scope, just something I could use occasionally at the range, and perhaps a little varmint hunting.

Get a Schmidt and Bender scope or even a Zeiss, Night Force, or US optics.

The thing is with these cheap shitty scopes, their lifetime is horribly low. Especially Tasco. Don't expect 1000+ round lifetimes out of those on centerfire rifles. And, especially with the recoil of 8mm Mauser, you're going to want a well-built scope.

Get an old Weaver scope. I have one on a Rem. 700 in 30-06 and it keeps going, plus it gives you that "used" look.

Also, get the bolt handle turned down. It'll look a lot better then that ATI pos bolt on handle.

if ask my nabor about it (hes a linced gun dealer) and he never sells a scope under 500€ {about 400$}, he did it ones and it was broken the next day,
his verdict is: don't buy cheap, only wen you want it to use ones :P.
he has and german scope used in the WWII (standaart issue 4X if not mistaken) for his mauser (by his story also used in the WWII :P ) and he likes his scope, he brougt it for about 500 guldens in 1980 for his nabor how brougt in 1947 from a local for 150 guldens( thats about 250$ now, if its not more) he can buy one at the moment for about €1200....:s a bit above your budget, but it will look very good:P
