I mean, putting players behind the current bleeding edge weaopnry would be cool. I mean, making it feel relevant to real life increases immersion.

But how to balance it? I mean.. Okay... How about people can accquire metal storm TURRETS after a HUGE acomplsihment but they are destructable.

Oh and sprays might be okay, as long as the server host can restrict them. So say, someone (cough cough), is being a sicko. The server admin can suspend their ability to use spatrays as an incentive to adhere to the rules.

Metal Storm seems really overrated to me. Sure, it's a large-area interdiction/area prevention weapon, but it does no good in the urban environments that many engagements today are being fought in. The thought of seeing it installed inside a small-arms system reminds me too much of the OICW, which is a huge ugly monstrosity that burns my eyes.

On the other hand...its civilian uses, such as firefighting in the form of water pellet barrages, is a really good idea. Imagine how much easier that would make fighting forest fires.

Didn't the aussies come up with a weapon system that had 60 barrels that fired like the metal storm? I remember reading about it in a popular science. If I remember correctly it fired something like 1000 rounds in a second. Crazy indeed
