i was cruising around the internet, when i saw this picture of a suit of armor. it looked incredibly sci fi and very much like an armor from a certain fps... http://www.hamiltonspectator.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=hamilton/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1168470616997&call_pageid=1020420665036&col=1014656511815
if this thing actually works. damn... if we arent the best army in the world, we would be the coolest looking

Lol yeah, my friend showed that to me. They also make a bear suit. Only thing I can possibly see doing with the bear suit is wrahslin' b'ars.

He made that because he was attacked by one.

No military will go for that They already have systems like that being tested that are a lot less bulky and heavy and look less stupid.

I'm a HUGE fucking fan of this guy! From his original bear-proof suits to what he's working on now. What I really like about him is that he isn't afraid to stand behind his suits and have all sorts of crazy shit be done to him to prove that they work. That and his manic dedication to the project make it such that I wouldn't be too surprised if his own creation(s) work better than anything the pentagon is working on (though you never know), due to the whole "a camel is a horse designed by committee" thing.

Clip of some of the original bear-proof suits:

Clip of him explaining the new military suit:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPS2l5fQ55A&NR

Plus, he's an absolute riot. You gotta love the clock.

Those are quality! Again, that guy's a riot. Though you have to admit that his fire paste works damn well.

Would be strange if you could set an alarm on it. If they did that they'd need a snooze button. Would suck to get kicked in the crotch because the alarm wouldn't stop. Wonder if it has a radio...

id put wristblades on it. just to look cool. i think the military could also intergrate more of there future soldier tech into the helmet, and then i would be scared of that suit

I can defenitely see potential in that. That could give us a huge advanatage in the War in Iraq, which is just where we need it.

I wonder if it can stop teh 7.62 round..

It won't be standardized, that thing must cost a couple million a unit. While this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Skin_body_armor is manageable.
